This board is raring to go, as we step forward to embark
on this year, in our positions. We are ready to take
on the challenges and goals of providing opportunities
and/or information about educational offerings for your
professional growth and development, as well as work
to educate agencies and organizations about the importance
of hiring Certified Activities Professionals.
Your
NCCAP Board of Directors will continue to be committed
to provide to you the highest quality information and
services. Just as you try and improve the quality of
life to your residents we will try and improve the quality
of services and education available to you.
MEPAP Re-engineering Committee, the project to update
the Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals
is still under way. The committee is working under Anne
D'Antonio-Nocera, ACC.
Salary survey - Being the ONLY national organization
that exclusively certifies Activity Professionals that
work primarily with the elderly, and after having received
over 300 requests a month asking for assistance in determining
an "average" wage for Certified Activity Profes-sionals;
we have created a wage survey. This survey, which will
be included in the next newsletter, will be conducted
on a purely voluntary basis. Therefore the results will
vary depending on those that complete the survey and
to what extent the survey is completed. This survey
is in NO way meant for any other purpose than to assist
the certified members with their ongoing communication
with regard to the average wage of an Activity Director.
"Look
for the wage survey in the next issue of NCCAP News."
