Our Mission

NCCAP Mission Statement

Since 1986, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has recognized the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) as the credentialing body for quality of life and leisure in long term care settings.

The mission of NCCAP is to set the standards and criteria for those working to meet the quality of life and leisure needs of those in their care.  We educate and certify Professionals who work to improve the quality of life of every individual they care for in any long-term care setting.  To that end:

  • NCCAP and our approved providers offer educational and testing opportunities for individuals to pursue on-going professional development and Certification

  • NCCAP works to educate the public, institutions and governments on the need for Standards, Certifications and Continuing Education Requirements which improve the quality of life of those in Long Term Care
